Things I’ve made

A little robot you can teach to drive autonomously.

LEGO Mindstorms is how I first learned to program and troubleshoot as a kid. This is my attempt to recreate that feeling for someone looking to understand training an AI model.

How it works

The robot has three sensors. One tells it whether the target is ahead of it or behind it, one whether it’s to its left or right, and one how far away it is. Those three numbers feed a tiny neural network that sets the speed of each wheel. While you train it, it records what you did and what its sensors saw; every drive you reward becomes a lesson, and each time, the network relearns from all your lessons, adjusting its weights until it does what you did as closely as it can.
